And they were all very, very excited for us. One of the aunts had twins 15 years ago and swears that we wouldn't need to PNPs... But because of our house layout, we plan to have the cribs downstairs in our bedroom, and then PNPs upstairs for naps during the day... So wouldn't we need 2 PNPs for our two children?
Re: Told the parents this weekend!
Exciting to let the world know isn't it?
For the PnP's...we received a NICE one at the shower and picked up a very plain cheap one ($15) off craigslist. We figured if we didn't end up using both, we'd send the cheaper one off to the grandparents to use!
Well we use the cheaper one up in our room for the baby who has special needs at night to sleep by us, and the other nicer one downstairs in the living room as a changer (and keeper of diaper supplies etc).
Everyone will have different needs and sometimes you don't know until the children are home...so my suggestion is to get a second cheap (or BOTH) one second-hand and see what you'll need!
You may have them nap in their cribs downstairs and use monitors after they can't both fit in the ONE p/n/p...you just never know...?
Glad it went well!
We have 2 PNPs and it has worked out great for us. We have one upstairs and one downstairs. The one upstairs is in our bedroom and the babies slept in it together for the first 8 weeks and it also has a changing table attached to it for late night diaper changes. The one downstairs works great bc it also has the changing table on it so we don't have to go upstairs to change diapers and we also let them nap in it during the day and a place to just hang out and look at the little hanging bears. You don't need 2 but having 2 is nice.
Congratulations!!
We have 2 PNPs and we did use them both. We had one set up in our room when they first came home and one downstairs in the living room. We also were required to provide sleeping areas for our in-home daycare and that's where they are now.
