Is milk coming out the nose spitting up?

Jonah has been doing this at most of his feedings? Is this reflux? Or just normal spitting up? It's scary and he gets all congested afterwards. Thank god for the booger sucker.

  • DS does this.  I asked my Pedi about it and he said it is normal.  He did it a lot more when he was you LOs age now maybe twice a week.  Just use the booger sucker and bring it up to your pedi at your next appointment.  My ds would freak out when ever it happened and breath funny for 30 sec after but then he would be just fine.
  • That has happened to DD a couple times, when we first brought her home.

Yep this is what happens to DS. I will let my pedi know next week when we see him :) Thanks!

  • My DS has done this since he was born (he's almost 6 weeks now). It's just about every time he spits up.  I said something to my pedi but they didn't seem too worried about it.
  • My DS has done this twice, scared the crap out of me, but he seemed ok afterwards, it was definitely part of his spitting up.
  • The LC told me when they are super little their nose and throat opening are really close together so it is normal for some milk to come out the nose when they spit up. It does look scary though.

  • My dd does this often. A l&d nurse told me it happens when they breath funny when they eat. She said it's normal
  • I was at our pediatricians appt when he had that type of spit up. dr wasn't alarmed by it at all.
  • Yeah. They hate it, but it's normal.
