I posted the other day that she wasn't eating or sleeping well... we went to the pedi yesterday and she had no other symptoms as of then and pedi said it was from teething (she has been miserable with teething for a few days too). A few hours after our appointment her nose started running like a faucet - snot is pouring out of her. Last night she barely slept because she couldn't breathe, and when she did sleep, I didn't, because I was listening to her struggled breathing all night. I feel so so bad for her. She is miserable and her eyes are red and runny. She's still not eating well, because she can't breathe through her nose and nurse at the same time. I keep wiping her nose but I don't want her skin to get raw and sore. If I don't wipe it, it tickles her face and she rubs it all over - up to her eyes and in her mouth, it's terrible.
Any advice is appreciated. I just want her to feel better. I gave her tylenol this morning and lots of cuddling, I don't know what else to do, other than call the pedi again tomorrow. The constant running snot is gross but I don't want to irritate her skin by wiping so much...... this sucks.
Re: DD is sick :-(
I'm sorry she's sick! It's the worst. Unfortunately nothing you can do but love her and comfort her. If her nose continues to be a problem, you can get saline drops.
Just remember, she will get better.
Big hugs.
I post this all the time, but it's a lifesaver and prevents ear infections. Get the Bebe sounds nasal aspirator battery powered with music. Graco also makes the same product. You can find it at BRU or online. It is a lifesaver. Y refluxes out of his nose daily and this product saved us when he had bronchiolitis. The amount of snot in the snot catcher showed the doc what was going on.
Hope your LO feels better.
sorry!
Saline and the nose sucker are your best friends. you can always put vaseline on her nose so keep it from getting rubbed raw. Do you have a humidifier? That helps so much!
Good luck!
Oh no....I am so sorry. Poor Abigal. I freaking HATE colds. And I hate that there is nothing you can do to make it better.
Huge hugs. I hope it passes quickly. Wish I was there to help you...:(
