Do you mind if I ask for help with choosing a digital SLR? I have a point and shoot now but I have decided I want to take better pictures and I am SO sick of red eye with the auto-flash I will probably use it mostly for baby pics (of course) and also a few outside pics in the summer for fishing/camping stuff (both daytime and nighttime).
I'm trying to decide between these 3 on Costco.com -- any suggestions?
1. https://tinyurl.com/dcwn8e - Nikon D60 Gold with 18-55mm & 55-200 lenses (I don't know enough to know if I actually would want both?). 10.2 mega-pixel
2. https://tinyurl.com/9vq72l - Nikon D40 with 18-55mm & 55-200 lenses. 6.21mega-pixel (not sure if this is okay for what I need, I might print 8x10's)
3. Same as #2 but with only the 18-55mm lens.
If you don't know have any preference or suggestions I totally understand
THANK YOU so much in advance -- and also THANK YOU so much for the new blog. I LOVE it and can't wait to get a new camera to start playing with my pics!!
Re: *** lajolla ***
Hey there... sorry I didn't get to this post yesterday, I was out shooting a wedding
I actually pretty much know zero about which Nikon cameras are better than others or which ones to recommend. I use Canon so I know a bit about those but Nikons are foreign territory to me.
You could always either look for camera review websites (I know the main one I use is canon only... sorry... but they have pretty in-depth reviews on dpreview.com) or go into a local camera shop (even if that's not where you're gonna buy one from) and ask them which they think is better for what you want to do with it.
Sorry I can't be more helpful!
Oh gosh -- no problem at all. I never even thought about the local camera shop, I'll go to them.
Thank you SO much!
