Is anyone else worried that their DC wont know his or her actual name??

Yes, also worried he won't know my or DH's names. Or the real names for anything in the house.

We're not even PG yet and we've totally had this discussion since DH and I don't really call anything by its proper name, including each other. ?I get worried when he calls me Elizabeth, because I know?whatever?comes next isn't good haha! ?

I just hope our kid doesn't end up being the weird one in school because of DH and my wacky sense of humor....?

That thought crossed my mind as I was reading just how many nicknames I have for this poor kid. Still....we sing her actual name, so I'm hoping that sticks. If not, there's always the fund I have for her therapy

speaking of this.. Mason has a name book, with spelling his name (first, middle, last).  It's his favorite book, his middle name is my first name (family name) so now he will call me by it sometimes, or when he hears it he points to me. He also has started repeating dh's name when I call him, it's so cute!!

Don't worry they will recognize their name and all the other important ones in their life.

I am the exact same way. When DH says "Katie...." I know I am about to get a lecture of some sort.

Yes! Plus we have the added issue that Sydney actually has TWO names. Her American name (Sydney) and her Chinese name (Sin-Lay).

Which reminds me of another nickname that we call her: LayLay.

DH and I are the same way. We can't even use each others names when we're mad. It's just "babe" for both of us. I'm sure other people find it abnoxious:

DH: Babe

ME: Yes, babe

DH: So I was thinking babe.

ME: About what babe?
