the concern with microwaving is hot spots. As long as you mix it up *really* well, so that it is a uniform and safe temp, you can microwave it.

We microwave in 5-10 second increments so we don't overheat it. (If it does overheat, you just have to let it cool down for a few minutes. No biggie.)

It's also 100% fine to heat the breastmilk in the usual fashion and then add the warmed breastmilk to the cereal.

I mix 1 tbsp. rice cereal and 1 1/2 tbsp. water and heat it for 5 seconds in the microwave.
