I'd love your thoughts on this name and also how you typically pronounce it. I tend to say Cale-ub, and other people I know say Cay-lub. Not a big difference, but if we were to use this name, I'd want to make sure we come to a consensus lol. TIA
I think I'm alone with this one, but I've always pronounced it Cay-Leb. I really like this name but DH vetoed it. So it never made it's way onto our list.
I also say Kay-Leb. If we would have had a boy, it would have been a top choice for us. My cousin was preggo at the same time as us, they had a boy and used Caleb.?
i don't really hear the difference. i've always heard it pronounced cay-lub. as far as the name goes, it seems like a nickname (i've known several and still don't think it sounds like a full, formal name) and i'm just more into long, more foraml names.here's what my baby name survey book has to say:
"one image of caleb is of a stand-up guy; the other image is of a guy who probably can't stand up. most people describe caleb as an extremely dedicated and hardworking man who's caring as well as charismatic. a few people, however, see him as a seedy, hard-living alcoholic. either way, he's most likely handsome and a little on the chubby side."
i would just be aware of its popularity and if you love it, use it.

Re: Caleb
I love it. I've always said and heard it said with the long A.
A friend has a son named Caleb, otherwise it would be on our list!
