Doppler use with anterior placenta?

Hey ladies,

I have an anterior lying placenta... has anyone else had this and still been able to find baby's heartbeat with a doppler around 12-13 weeks? ?My doppler is coming in the mail this weekend, and I'm just wondering if I'm not going to have any luck finding the heartbeat. ?My OB didn't try this week with a doppler since I had an ultrasound right before, so I can't base it off of whether or not she found it... Just wondering what you guys have?experienced. ?Thanks!?

We found it around 10 or 11 weeks (can't remember) without any problems.

My doctor had trouble finding it at my 12 week appointment.  I had just had an ultrasound so I didn't worry.  The doctor had no trouble finding it immediately at my 16 week visit.

I still have a hard time finding the heartbeat with the doppler because I have an anterior placenta too.  Dr said that is normal...he can always find it pretty easy.

I have it too, never caused a problem for me.... you just might have to be a tad more patient....
