Help!

I have a constipated baby on my hands. What are some natural trixs? I have been bicycling her legs and massaging her baby belly.

Re: Help!

  • A little diluted apple/ pear juice always works if you think she is old enough for that!

  • Is she eating solids yet? If so prunes always work for us almost too good. Or some prune juice watered down.

  • Once when it was very bad we gave her 1oz water with 1oz of apple-prune juice. It totally worked within about 20 min.

You can also stimulate the area with a q-tip dipped in vaseline about 1/2" in.

    Warm baths sometimes help too...

  • How long has she gone without pooping? Our little girl didn't poop for three days. And it was a partially miserable three days, but her system figured it out, and bam...lots of poop. We tried putting her on her belly on top of the dryer and running it...that helped calm her down, but I'm not sure it helped her poop.

A lot of people will say diluted juice--pear, apple etc. It works because it's a sugar that baby can't digest, so their system pushes it out quickly along with everything else.

  • My pedi had me use Karo Syrup/Water at 6 weeks.

mix 4 oz water & 2 Tablespoons Syrup.  Give baby 2 oz twice per day (I did mine 12 hours apart).

  • Our ped told us to use Karo syrup too. ?We just add a few teaspoons into the bottle and it definitely works.
