Pregnant after a Loss

Due date question?

So I always thought that my dr's office had my due date as the 30th. Well at my 25 week appt. I met with one of the other dr's in the practice and she said that my due date was the 27th. I guess they go by my LMP and I go by when I ovulated. I know it's only a three day difference but if I go by their date then I am 39 weeks today!!!!!!!! I am curious to see if I deliver closer to the 27th or the 30th.

Re: Due date question?

  • Most doctors use LMP to base your EDD, b/c that is all most women know about their fertility.  Your first u/s is the most accurate way to date a pg, but it has to be more than a week off from what you should measure based on your LMP to switch your due date.

  • Really, as long as it's "close", it's not that big of a deal- your baby will come whenever it's good and ready! I was a week past my due date with DS. This baby though, I know the exact date I O'd b/c of the monitoring I was having and the trigger shot, so I feel pretty darn confident about my EDD- not like the little bean will show up that day, most likely! Watch it come on Thanksgiving, right when I'm about to eat my pumpkin pie!
  • I know it's not a big deal but I am just at the point where I am anxious to meet our little girl and am curious to see which date she is closer to! That's it!! Smile
