Did any of you ladies have problems drinking water when you were pregnant? Just plain cold water?
Ever since I have become pregnant I just can't drink plain water. I have to have my water cold, ice cold, and I loved it so much before I was pregnant. Honestly hardly had soda at all. Craved water. Now I just can't drink it. It makes me sick. And I have been extra extra thirsty these past 2 weeks. I can drink flavored water, water with lemon or lime in it, or sparkling water that has no flavor. But not my beloved plain water. Any ideas why?
Re: H2O Question?
I couldn't drink water either! It made me so sick...I would puke almost every time. I had to drink chocolate milk and eat plain icecream cones from Dairy Queen to have some semblance of water...and I was thirsty all the time.
Here's my old blog entry on it:
"Yesterday at my appointment they took six vials of blood. I got the new girls (an extern and then the gal who replaced Nicole, the nurse I've seen since I've started there.) and I made them all laugh. It was the first time I had been able to have any water. The requirements? Filtered, room temperature, no more than a sip at a time, and no more than a fourth of a cup. So I had some before I left and then when I was done with my appointment. Water was so good. I've started getting bitter about watching people drink whatever they want. Drives me crazy. They can down a full bottle in a second flat if they wanted to, and I can't. Pout, pout...not fair, not fair. I mean people drinking water are everywhere...ahhhhhh!"

My acupunturist said that plain water can be hard to digest (but I don't remember why). She suggested to mix 1/2 juice 1/2 water but do whatever you need to get liquids, fluids are so important it doesn't matter if it isn't water.
I've definitly had times over the past couple weeks that plain water just did not taste good. After my mom had major abdominal surgery she could not drink water, but drank a lot of lukewarm herbal teas (no caffine)
