Tulip Festival?

I'm dying to take Evie to the tulip festival, for no other reason than I just *have* to get pictures of her in a field of flowers:).  If you've been there, how kid-friendly is it?  Can I take the stroller?  (I'd typically just use the Ergo, but my sciatica is getting pretty bad).  Any tips on places to go or avoid?  Is there much to do or see on a weekday, or is it pretty much limited to weekends?

Re: Tulip Festival?

  • It is kid family friendly but the fields get muddy really muddy so a stroller may not be a great choice. And weekends up there are very busy lots of cars and having to pay for parking or park far away and walk. If you can go on a weekday it would be less crowded. There is a website for it and it lists all of the events. You want to also check if the tulips are in bloom yet some years they are late due to cold weather and I think this year it may be the case.

  • It's not especially stroller friendly but it's managable. The fields get pretty muddy sometimes. I would definately go on a weekday, it's CRAZY on weekends.

I'm thinking about taking Sydney too (for pictures too). I have every other Tuesday off starting next week, we could go together if you're interested. Pop me an email if you want to go.

  • That would be fun!  I just sent you an email:).
