Pregnant after 35

Question about FSH levels & TTC...

Hi ladies, I posted this on TTTC after 35, but thought I could get some feedback here too. Quick intro, I have two children - a 13 year old DD, and a 15 month old DS.  I had one m/c before DS, and two afterwards - my most recent one in January.  We started seeing an RE last month and had some testing done (karyotyping on both of us; RPL b/w; CD3 b/w, and a hysterosonogram).  Last night was our follow up visit.  Seems that we are mostly "normal" - but my FSH level was slightly elevated at 10.9; she said they like it to be less than 10.  I wonder if this is the reason for our m/c's.

Anyone else with multiple miscarriages have an elevated FSH?  Anyone go on to have a successful pregnancy?

I read a few posts about FSH and saw wheatgrass mentioned; I'd love more info on that if anyone has used that for better luck w/TTC.

Thanks ladies!

  • I dont have an answer for you but just wanted to say that I LOVE zeppoles on St. Joseph's Day as well....my Irish husband will never understand the 1/4 of me that's Italian although he doesnt' mind my sauce or meatballs!!  This is the first I've ever seen anyone mention it on here and I had to comment!!  Good luck with you FSH levels!!

  • Hi Jenn!  Too funny about the zeppoles... I have had more than my fair share of them this week - they're just too freaking good!  Yay for being Italian.  I'm 1/2 and DH has some in him too, so he's well aware of the zeppole tradition.  :)  Hey my brother lived in Medford up until last year, the Fellsway West exit off of 93.  He's still off that exit but in Winchester now.
  • Unfortunatley me and sweets just don't see eye to eye these days and I had to forgo them this year with a promise to be back next March!!  I always told my DH that if I need to eat the stinky corned beef and cabbage than he'd better get used to the idea that the Italians have their own special days....love the feasts, especially in Malden and the North End.  We live one exit up on the route 60 exit....good for your brother in getting out of dodge.....I'm not a city girl and I'm very much looking forward to moving one of these fine days that aren't in my immediate future!!  I hope to see you on this board one day very soon!!!!
  • I've lost five from Sept '07-Dec '08. ?The only one we know why was due to Turner's. ?FSH was around 7 in May '08 and just over 10 in Oct. ?I think it is more common that it causes problems getting pregnant, rather than staying pregnant, although we didn't experience that. ?So far, so good on this one--including the NT scan this week where baby looks completely normal and preliminary blood work was fab. ?I'm just being treated for hypothyroid and MTHFR.

There was a website--I think highfsh.com--they had good info there. ?We didn't do anything about the FSH, although the RE wanted to do fertility drugs and trigger ovulation because he felt I was on the verge of not ovulating. ?That one was a chemical pregnancy and the treatment was unnecessary. ?Good luck!?
