HSG test - Drive myself???

Just curious to know, can I drive myself to and from this test? It doesn't sound too invasive, and I don't want to make DH take off of work if he doesn't have to. The hospital is only about 15 minutes away from home. Anyone who's had one? What should I do? Thanks.

Hello! I had a sonohysterogram which I hear is very similar to an HSG.  I drove myself and it wasn't a problem.  Just take a few ibuprofens about an hour before the procedure for cramping - I took 4 and the procedure was a little uncomfy but not painful.  Good luck!

Hi,

I drove my self and ony had minor craming afterwards.    Every's experience differs, but the HSG was very painful for about 2 minutes, then it was fine, with no really residual pain.

Dh went with me but I could have driven myself. I was told to take 4 advil prior which I did...GOOD LUCK!

Thanks so much for your respoinses. I realized that DH will be at a dental appointment while I am doing my test, so I am glad I don't have to have my mom take me! I didn't think the test sounded too bad, so I will definitely do it myself!

Mine was not bad at all...a little cramping after but a couple of advil did the trick.  I actually went to work right after and had no problems at all....so GL to you!

DH went with me, but he totally didn't need to as I was fine after.  His comment was that we were going through this together, so he wanted to be there for me.  It was sweet, but I felt really bad him having to drive through lots of traffic to get from work to me.

When I scheduled mine, they told me I had to have someone drive me.  A friend came with me, but I drove and they didn't make sure that I had someone anyway.  I thought it was very painful (sorry), but the pain only lasted during the test.  I felt 100% immediately after and went back to work.
