what do you think about the name hill for a boy? i think i only like it as a nickname for a longer, surname-sounding name but we don't have any family names that begin with hil- so i'm having a hard time finding one. i'm obviously not going to use hilton... does anyone know any 2+ syllable surnames that begin with hil-? thanks!

I am sorry but Hill is kinda awful.  It's like naming your kid mound, or lump.  It just isn't name - it's a flat out noun.

Oh, I don't think it's so bad...if the last name goes well with it.  I think of Hill Harper from CSI-NY.

I don't think it is awful, but I am not a fan.  I guess you could name him Hilliard, meaning war stronghold, and call him Hill for short.
