the target maternity section SUCKS

Or is it just my store? I was expecting much more.  There were maybe 4 racks of clothes and they were all yuck.

Re: the target maternity section SUCKS

  • mine has a good size selection but everytime I go, I just see huge pants, huge blousy shirts, etc.. I dont need to look bigger than I already will be.

  • It's not just your store... I think Target maternity sucks too!  They have a few more than 4 racks at ours but every time I've looked it seems like it's all thin flimsy oddly cut tshirts, ugly sweaters, and workout clothes.  No thanks...

  • I agree! Ours only had a really small selection and I wasn?t impressed at all.
  • I agree, Target Maternity is awful.  You would think their buyers could find some decent stuff.
  • It is sucky at my Target too. ?Just a few disorganized racks. ?I was expecting much better selection.

  • Ours sucks, too.  My BFF gave me all of her Target Maternity clothes and they were great.  Not sure where she got them all, but I loved them.  More than likely, her mom got them for her online.

  • You are SO right, totally think it sucks. But I also think they all suck (old navy, gap, etc). I hate all maternity stores. Only thing I've found is a site online. I LOVE being pregnant and am so grateful but the clothes suck and you can only wear tank tops and yoga pants so many days... GL look'in cute ;)
  • I agree. ?The only things I've found there that I like are their jeans, their plain long-sleeved tees (although I prefer the kind that show your shape a little more ... I always feel fat in the "regular" kind), and their lounge-around-the-house pants. ?All their blouses and sweaters tend to be horribly ugly and tent-like. ?
  • I thought it was just me.  Their section definetly sucks big time.

  • I was disappointed too.  I have been to 3 Targets; some have more clothes than others, but I had thought the style and quality would be better than what I've seen so far.
  • Mine is like that too. I've just been ordering online from Gap and Old Navy. I refuse to spend a ton of money (Mimi Maternity in the Mall at Green Hills has CUTE stuff, but it's really expensive for clothes I can't wear for long) and Motherhood Maternity was NMS and felt and looked cheap to me. Gap and ON has been a happy medium, even though I have to order online.

Pickles and Ice Cream in Cool Springs also has some cute stuff (some again, NMS), but all the cute stuff I like is the designer stuff (Michael Stars, etc) there so it's expensive too.

  • Target beyond sucks!  And I assume you go to the same one I did :)  I also got super frustrated because there's not a gap maternity in town.  Seriously!  I ended up ordering a lot from gap, buying some non-maternity shirts from Target. . . and was working up the nerve to venture in to Pea in a Pod for some special occasion stuff :)  GL!

  • I thought it was just my Target - because it's really small.  But, seems like it's all of them!  Even though Motherhood is expensive - I have found some good things there (jeans & khakis, specifically).  Try looking at Ross, Marshalls & TJ Maxx.  The ones near me have maternity sections.  You can't beat their prices - though the quality is hit or miss.  I thought Kohl's was sorry too - but I know many other ladies have had good luck there.  If you go to a big JC Penney - they have some cute stuff too...but I don't think every store has a section.  The one I went to recently only had 4 racks - but it was all 50% off!

Honestly, I didn't buy that much maternity stuff.  I just bought things in XL or were long.  So many of the styles now are accomodating - just get them in a bigger size.  Good luck!
