From BF to Formula baby poop question?

I've recently stopped breastfeeding and switched to formula before returning to work.  My 5 week old used to have multiple bowel movements a day and is now down to one a day which is very very runny.  I know the frequency isn't a concern but I've read that her stools should be of peanut butter consistency.  She's only been exclusively bottle fed for 2 full days.  Is this just her body's way of getting used to the formula?  Anyone else have this concern?

TIA!

  • If it's only been two days, I wouldn't be worried. It is probably just transitional for her. Keep an eye on her - but if you are really worried, just put a quick call in to the pedi to ease your mind :)

FWIW, DD went from multiple poops down to 1-2 a day as soon as we even started supplementing. The extra iron can be tough on them sometimes.
