Do you think it's too soon?

For me to get that feeling of the baby moving? Last night I was sitting on the couch watching American Idol and eating a popsicle. All of a sudden I got this weird feeling a little below the belly button. It wasn't a pain, not stabbing, no streching, nothing I have felt before. It's hard to explain what it really was though. I can't really put words on it. Kind of a tickle of sorts but it didn't scare me. After I felt it I was just kind of like, wow that was different. Any ideas???

I felt him for the first time @ 15 weeks, which is supposedly early. Usually, only women who are on their second child feel it at 13 weeks. But you could be ultra sensitive to your own body....who knows?? When you start feeling it more often, you will be able to say more definitively whether or not it was the baby. It was only after I started feeling him more, that I knew I had really felt him @ 15 weeks...

I hate to say this one, because it is annoying when people say this to you, but.....It could be gas.

  • It's funny because that's what I thought it was at first. But it felt different then gas. I guess I will just have to wait and see as I get farther along. Thanks though!
  • Sorry, but yes. ?I think it's too soon. ?I didn't feel any little flutters or anything until about 17 weeks. ?Even that was a little early, I think. ?At 13 weeks, and not even weighing an ounce, it's VERY unlikely that what you're feeling is baby.

I agree with IHHM unfortunately - the baby is only centimeters right now - it's swimming up a creek, but too small to feel.

  • It is really hard to decipher those early flutters. I started feeling potential flutters around 14-15w and by 17w DH could feel definite kicks from the outside. People thought it was too early, but when you get kicked you know it!

In a few more weeks you'll know for sure. I still don't know if those early flutters were babies or gas.
