TTC after 35

My DH has an addiction..

He loves the Price is Right!

He adores it. In particular, plinko and the mountain climber game. It makes me laugh, he so does not seem the sort to be a PIR fan. He's still not very pleased about Drew replacing Bob though.

I think I am going to have to plan a surprise trip to see a show live. When I can find it, I will PIP him dressed as Rod Roddy (the old PIR announcer) from Halloween a few years back.

Any strange/cute habits or hobbies amongst your DHs?

Re: My DH has an addiction..

  • I love PLINKO! That is too funny. What a great suprise if you could get him tix.

DH is a big hunter. He is planning a trip to Denver in the fall to hunt Caribou. I grew up with a family of hunters so it doesn't phase me. Sometimes it gets to the point of all consuming!

I don't know what he would do if I got pg during hunting season LOL!

  • My DH is a corner worker for amature racing.  (They wave the flags to tell the drivers if there is a problem up ahead on the course).  He gets up at 6 am to work at the races on weekends... I sleep in LOL

  • My DH is a huge pack rat/collector. Where he works he finds old apothocary (medicine) bottles from the 18th and 19th century.....he gets so excited when he finds a really old one that he doesn't have.  I mean little boy excited. He really should have been a treasure hunter or archeologist. He also STILL collects baseball and football cards. He has HUGE trunks full of all this stuff.

He's also a huge fisherman LOVES it and is really good at it as well. Hoping to give him a little buddy one day so he can pass all these skills and knowledge on.

  • I watch TPIR a lot during the summer if I'm home! Maury and Jerry, too. Embarrassed

My DH just loves to pretend to swing a golf club when we are shopping. He stands there and acts like he's standing at the tee box. He also likes to whistle at me to get my attention. But he doesn't do a "Hey Sexy Girl" whistle. He whistles the way he does to get our dog to come to him. And yet...I look for him everytime I hear that sound as we are shopping. I guess these aren't addictions-just silly things he does!

  • My husband would watch sports all day if I didn't protest or ask 'isn't there anything else on?'  When there's a game on I will read or go upstairs and watch TV.  However, now that we have DVR I will usually read and watch my stuff later.   I've read more books in the 2.5 years of marriage than I have my entire life.

  • I love the Price is Right!

My DH is addicted to his blackberry, addicted.  Drives me crazy sometimes!

  • Alton Brown from Good Eats is my dhs fav show. We even met him once when he came to cincinnati. We now have "THE SHRINE" to Alton in our kitchen. When he messes up on dinner (my dh cooks all our meals) he turns the shrine around as not to disappoint AB (as we call him)...funny when we got married, My initals became AB. He is truly jealous of that one!

    I adore Alton Brown.

  • My DH considers the golf channel to be an actual news channel.
  • My DH is totally into everything SciFi. We have our cable package particularly because it has the SciFi channel on it.  Lots of Battlestar Galactica and Stargate Atlantis going down at our house.
  • Good eats is at the top of our DVR list!  My kids LOVE Alton!  Its like science disguised as entertainment!

  • I confess. I've actually been to the price is right in person not once but twice. I went in the early 90s and during one taping I got to sit behind the seats that say "the" "price" "is""right". you know the place where the contestants sit when they are waitng for the next item up for bid.  But unfortunatley I never got to come on down.  Drat.  But it was really fun.

This post was the inspiration of my adding a picture of the groom's cake at our wedding, homer. DH loves the Simpsons.

You lucky thing!  I am seriously going to look into this now. I mentioned TPIR over dinner and he was on about it again.

    I love that cake! hee.

  • It's free. You line up in a bunch of seats outside (first come first serve) and wait a couple of hoursr. Then the give you a number and you wait some more. Then you go in a line in front of 3 people who I assume are the producers, you get all of 30 seconds to wow them and then hope they pick you.

When waiting in line they may offer to let you watch some pilots and vote on whether or not you like the show.   I have to say the whole thing was really fun and I'd do it again if I were going to be in LA
