Is poor/picky toddler eating a phase?

Or will my DD go the rest of her life never eating a fruit or a vegetable?

This is really starting to bother me and is causing problems between DH and I.  He thinks I'm not trying hard enough to get her to eat them.  We actually got in a fight about it last night (really stupid I know) and now I'm really sad/upset today.  DH and I never fight about stupid crap like this.  But now I feel like he thinks I'm a failure as a mother.

  • I hope it's a phase. S lives on mac and cheese, cheese sticks, strawberries and pretzels! LOL

  • Well, what are you supposed to do force feed her?!?! ?I wouldn't worry about what your DH said. ?You know what you're doing. ?You can only try to get her to eat!

(on a side note, I have had some of the deceptively delicious stuff from that cookbook & it's not all bad. ?Maybe you could try that?)

    ?

Layla is on a food strike right now. ?She won't hardly eat any of her favorites. ?

i'm pretty sure it's a phase.  we don't make food a battle.  it's too stressful.  he's growing and happy.  it's not like he'll be at a business dinner in 30 years eating plain pasta.

  • I think it's a phase. My DS is a pretty good eater and even he has phases and periods of time where he won't eat anything but meats/protein and no veggies/fruits. Sometimes, he won't eat anything. Finally, he is back to eating whatever we serve but we went through a long period of time where he wasn't doing so. Have you tried textrued vegetable protein? In my MOPS class we had a nutritionist talk about this. You can mix it in with certain foods she already eats until you can get her to start eating the veggies on her own.
