I posted last night about DH's grandmother being angry and telling us how we are "not stern enough" with Miles because he broke something last night (a glass candy jar that I have moved 600x so he wouldn't break it. It's a jar full of candy, FFS, of course he's going to mess with it). We apologized for him breaking it and offered to replace it, but she said no. She seemed like she got over it. Apparently not.
This morning I was in the dining room giving the kids breakfast and she came over and starting gushing all over Jonas. Miles is yelling "Hi! Hi! Hi!" and she completely ignored him. Really mature for an 86 year old, right? Now I know why my MIL, God rest her soul, was so fukced up...I would have gone crazy had DH's grandma raised me too. Sweet baby Jesus.
Re: Nice. She's giving my 20 month old the silent treatment.
Oh that would have made me soooo angry. I probably would've said something like "Miles, don't waste your breath. It seems your going to be ignored today." ?But then again I'm kinda mouthy like that, lol.?
?
FWIW, Layla *LOVES* the candy jar at my MIL's. ?She is always trying to get into it. ?(weren't they due the same~ish day?)?
did you say anything to her? that is just horrible!?
please tell me she doesn't live with you and you are just visiting?
btw--it's great to see you around here again! ?
ellemoney- Ithink they are really close. Miles was born 7/18
minnas- Unfortunately we all live together. My drunken BIL was living with her because although she's not senile (lol), she just can't live alone. It wasn't working with the drunken BIL (shocker, right?) so we moved in. It was kind of helping all of us at the time.
That is sooo sad, poor Miles probably has no clue why he's being ignored. I would have said something-rude. No way I could bite my tounge at that moment.
BTW-- what is "ffs" I have a guess, but I'm not sure (for fvck sake?)
?
Yes, that's it! ?Layla's birthday is 7/17. ?I knew they either had the same due date or close birthdays. ?:) ?It's weird how you remember that stuff, huh!
I'm sorry about the grandmother. ?Layla likes to say "hi" to everyone in passing & I hate when people don't respond. ?I just tell her that sometimes people are rude. ??
