Our little guy arrived on St. Patrick's Day! He came out crying and peeing on the doctor! We knew since 20 weeks that he has a serious heart defect, so of course there were a million doctors present ready to care for him. We were very glad we knew about his heart in utero in order for him to be delivered at a hospital where he is able to receive the best care possible. We are definitely in good hands!
He is in the NICU and stable, but with lots of tubes attached. I know many of you are all too familiar with this. It was good that I had prepared myself, and grandparents, for this. He actually looks better to me than what I imagined. They are still doing to do tests to be sure about his exact heart structure so that they can plan for surgery probably within the next week.
We are very anxious and nervous first time parents. We already love him so much and would do anything for him to be healthy. It is so hard not to be able to hold him!
Just wanted to let you all know...it is nice to share with other moms who know exactly what I am talking about.

Congratulations! Having a baby in the NICU is a very trying time. Just remember to take care of yourself too so you can be there for him!
