Hello ladies!!
I got back from my NT scan a few hours ago and can relax, at least until we get the blood results back and decide on whether an amnio is in our future!!
My DH was unable to go with me
due to a previously scheduled Dr appt for himself. So this was the first appt I had to go solo on and I was a little apprehensive. I got in and was the first appt of the morning so I went right in, the ultrasound was about 15 minutes and the nuchal fold was measuring between 1.7 and 1.8 and all limbs were accounted for with no abnormalties that she could see.....she said they don't like to say anything until they get the blood back but from her point of view and what she could see on the u/s that all looks good, she didn't see any problems thus far. She did say that they would be taking more blood at week 16 and then comparing them all....did anyone else have blood drawn again at 16 wks?? I don't remember anyone talking about this. Now it's just a waiting game to see how the blood work comes back and decided to amnio or not to amnio?!?!?! My husband and I will be celebrating this evening anyways with some celebratory hotdogs on the grill since it's such a beautiful day in Boston!!
Hope all you ladies have had a good day!!!
Re: Back from NT scan
Hi Jenn! So glad it went well! Yep, I am having blood drawn again on April 3 and then the f/u ultrasound on the 8th- where we'll most likely do the amnio, too.
My doc felt my odds will probably improve after the 16 week test because the baby is farther along, etc.
Jenna, I'm glad it went well but am sorry your husband wasn't there to see the baby during the ultrasound.
And it sounds as if you're having the sequential screen, which compares the bloodwork at 12 weeks to the bloodwork at 16 weeks. I didn't have that, I had the Ultrascreen (just NT Scan and bloodwork prior to the scan).
If your blood was drawn today, generally the results are ready within two weeks. You probably can call your doctor and as for the initial results (based on scan and 1st round of bloodwork).

So happy it went well and you got to celebrate!!! What a bummer that your DH could not go.
Your mention of hot dogs generated a craving with me......now I'm on a mission, LOL. Hope your b/w results are great and you don't have any further consideration for amnio.

Congratulations! I had mine yesterday and my little one's NT measurement was 1.1 and 1.1. The tech took me through a tour of my baby as well showing me things he'd be looking for in genetic defects (none were there, yay!). They did the five drops of blood thing and I have an appt for genetic counseling bloodwork on the 30th.
As scared as I was, it was so amazing to see my baby - it was a little person! bouncing around and everything. My DH couldn't go with me so I tried to tell him all about it but he seemed kind of sad he couldn't see it too. He's definitely going to come with for my Level 2. When does that usually happen?
