How to baby proof cords.

DS is starting to go after cords. Our electrical outlets are in odd spots.  So our tv is on a stand in the corner, but the outlet is on the wall next to it below the window seat.  So there hangs the cord out in the open It's not possible to move the entertainment center in front of the window seat.  So any good suggestions on how to baby proof the cord?  Do I need to get those gates and just gate off the entertainment center and outlet area?

Re: How to baby proof cords.

  • I would go to staples and see if they can recomend anything. Is it just one cord or like a few...cause then maybe those mesh things to keep the cords organized may work.

  • is it the cord or the outlet that you are worried about? if it's the cord, they make cord storage thingies where you wrap the excess cord in a plastic babyproof container.  if it's the outlet, get an outlet cover that automatically covers the openings if your baby unplugs the cord.  on the outlets that are exposed in our house that we can't just hide (because we use them), we do both things.

It's the cords.  I have the outlet covers, but need something for the cords.

     Thanks for all the suggestions!
