Cupcake help

A good friend of mine has asked me to help her find decorating ideas for her son's 2nd birthday.  She is doing a farm animal theme.  We are planning on decorating them ourselves, so I am looking for some easy ideas.  I have checked wilton.com, and the hello cupcake book, any other places or pictures you girls know of would be great.

Re: Cupcake help

  • I think someone here made piggie noses out of marshmallows on top of cupcakes....if I remember right.  Anyone remember who?  I remember seeing photos in their blog.

  • The "Wilton Cupcake Fun" Book has a CUTE page of farm animal cupcakes.  I have the page marked in my book since they seem really do-able.  IN the "how to" they sy to use cookies that you ice for the heads etc... but I would just do them in icing.

I got this book a few years ago, so I'm not sure if this one is still one that is current.  But you could probalby run down to Craft Mart and see if they have it there.  It's got silly feet clows on the front cover and it's a blue background.  The farm animals are on page 22.  You can always borrow my book too!

  • I think it was Keren who did those, I saved the pic, but need to figure out what she used.

Lauri- I will look for that book, maybe even the library.

  • You might also try looking on bgh.com, kraftfoods.com, and marthastewart.com.  I've seen cute cupcake ideas on all of those websites.
  • If you can find gummi or marshmallow farm animals, you can toast coconut and put it on top of the frosted cupcakes for "hay" and nestle a candy animal on top.

Maybe cowprint cupcakes using white and black tinted frosting?  :)
