Hi!
Have you decided on a theme for Robbie's B-day? I saw a few cakes that seem easy enough and cute I could send you, but I wasn't sure what theme you decided on. I can definetely help you! Again, I'm out ot regular practice, but it's like riding a bike, it comes back! I also have lots of fillings if you want to use any. I typically have buttercream icing too.
I think we are going to try to go to Disneyland in May! Just for the weekend. AUdrey is too young for most of the rides and will probably be overwhelmed, so if we go, knowing that it's just a fun, informal trip, I think we will all have fun! I only need 2.5 more SW credits for my 2nd free flight this year. That is only 1 roundtrip flight and 1 stay at either a Hampton/Hilton or a Best Western (I only stay here though in 1 place since that is all that is there!) I'll be able to get that in the next month.
It should be pretty cheap though, since both mine and Steve's flights will be free (Do we have to pay for the taxes though on reward flights?)Audrey will be free too. Also, we'll be staying at a Holiday Inn on my points too. Either an HI Express or a Staybridge Suites where breakfast is also free. Both are a 10 minute walk to the park. I think a free breakfast is key though. One less meal to pay for!
I can't decide to rent a car or just take a shuttle. I have only 1 free day rental with National (who we use for work) so we would have to pay for the other days. But if we are just going to Disnayland and that is it, I'm not sure if we'll need one. ??? They also have park passes at Costco, so we'll just pick them up there and we're all set!
Steve has only been 1x like 20 years ago, so it'll be fun for him too!
Have you decided on a day and time for Robbie's party? Are you going to have it at your house?
Re: *~*~*Annette~*~*~
Hey Lauri,
I keep thinking I will run into you at daycare but I have been getting there by 430pm due to no traffic. So it is nice that I get to pick up Robbie early but I have not run into you. Anyway Yep, I have decided on a Lion/Safari animal theme for Robbie's B-day. I made a test cake last weekend it looked cute. I had thought we had some decorating tips but then of course I couldn't find them so I think we tossed them when we moved. So I made due with the spray can of frosting and then just a knife. I think I need to take more time doing it but for the first try at decorating it was not bad.
That is so cool that your going to Disneyland. Audrey will love it. I think a car is a good idea then your not stuck eating dinner at the hotel or in the park. It would be a bit more expensive but you would have some flexibility. How many days will you be going? I have done the shuttle there and it is really easy and ok as long as your ok with eating at the park for each meal. And really for just a few days that would be ok.
Are you a NCAA widow this next few weeks? Kevyn is having a golf tourney on Sat then watching the games all day after that. I remember that you said Steve really follows the tourney.
Are you busy this weekend? Do you want to plan a get together either Sat or Sunday? You could come over and see the new place.
OH and any help on Robbie's B-day cake would be so appriciated I am a mess with decorating. And his B-day party will be 16 May at our house. I sure hope the weather is good by then. I have about eek 30 people on the guest list so far. Will you guys be home that weekend or is that when your thinking of going to Disneyland?
