I was sweating bullets beforehand. DH and I did not do any screening at all with our first, but I figured out that ignorance WAS NOT in fact bliss, and we decided to go ahead with screening this time so we could be better informed.
I had it in my head that the baby was deformed. Missing an arm, a leg, you name it. I don't know why we do such things to ourselves. The u/s went well -- the nuchal fold measurement was tough for them to get, and they did two measurements -- first time it was 1.7 and the second time 1.88, so I guess that is well within normal range. The baby has a head, two arms, two legs, and two feet -- so I think I can put the fears about that kind of development aside now.
I just have to wait the week for the bloodwork results. I'm sure hoping they are good enough that we don't have to consider additional testing. It was a huge relief for this 42-year old woman! Whew!

Well done lady! 1.7 is better than I had with my first girl at 37, and she's perfect and smarter than me.

so glad the NT scan went well
