I do level II sonos and we find these frequently...most of the time it turns out to be nothing by the time they come back for thier follow up. Not all MFM's will report this finding though...apparently there is some article that reports this finding to be significant...however, its kind of an annoying finding because generally its not. There can be different levels of severity, most of the time it is not that severe. They just like to follow them and make sure that the ventricle in babys head doesnt get too enlarged. Sometimes it can be caused by exposure to a virus called CMV and so that is probably the testing your friend is getting. Tell her not to worry, it generally ends up with good news....
