OBGYN Rec downtown?

I have been going to northwestern women's health, and will be delivering in a few weeks with one of the doctors there.

Unfortunately, I am completely unimpressed with every doctor in the practice (with the exception of one - Dr. Feldstein, who seems great).

Anyway, it's too late now for me to change prior to the birth, but I'd like to change shortly after....and am looking for some recs...any input would be helpful.

TIA!

  • Hi!  I am at The Women's Group, not sure if you are at that same location on Chicago and Michigan Ave?  I see Murthy  and she is good.  I also like Lui.

  • I'm also with the Women's Group of Northwestern and I love them.  My doctor is Dr. Katz but I believe you have to rotate through all of the doctors at the office.  I've also seen a few of the nurse practitioner's and they have all been great - Kathy Fuller is my absolute favorite.  Prior to getting pregnant she spent a good 45 minutes answering questions and talking to me about getting pregnant,  when all I was in for was a pap test.  I highly recommend them based on my experiences over the past few years.

  • Like pp, I go to Women's Group of Northwestern.  My doc is Dr. Levitt and she's great.  I haven't seen all the doctors yet, but Kamel and Lindner have also been good.

  • My old OBGYN who had retired last year actually referred me to Dr. Kamel but unfortunately she didn't take my insurance so I think that's how I ended up at this other practice.  It's not the Women's Group, it's Northwestern Women's Health in the playboy building.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm so disappointed, maybe I will call them again and ask about insurance options...

If anyone else has other recs, I am open to them....

  • I went to the same group that you are seeing.  I have a 10 month old now.  you can e-mail me at suzheath@gmail if you have specific questions.  GL!
  • You might want to consider Assoc. for Women's Healthcare at 30 N. Michigan.

I see Drs. Salamon & McGee for prenatal care and Dr. Ginsburg performed my amnio and I also saw Drs. Weiss and Sibul when I was at Prentice to deliver my son. I liked all of them. One word of warning, they tend to run late as the day goes on but usually OB patients are in and out pretty quickly since we're in there so often.

  • i like Dr. Hakimian at Progressive Care for Women. THey are located across the street from NMH.  I have been seeing her on and off for 10 years. You have to go thru a few "hoops" to get an appt, but they MDs are all very nice.

I do not recommend Lake Shore OB/GYN.

  • I go to NMPG (Northwestern Memorial Physician's Group)- my doctor is Melissa Auger- love her!
  • I go to The Women's Practice..in Neiman Marcs Building...I see Dr. Mia Norlin who is great. The practice is centered around Dr. Mazzullo who is very well known but very difficult to get into.?
  • I also go to the Women's Group and see Dr. Lui - she is fantastic. I've seen almost every doctor in the practice and they're all good. The staff and medical technicians can be hit or miss but it's worth it to me to stay with Dr. Lui.
