cradle cap at 5 months?

Isabelle has white and yellowish flaky skin in spots on her head. Is this cradle cap?  What can I do for it?

Re: cradle cap at 5 months?

  • DO you have Aquafor?  If so, rub that into her scalp and wait a while - even hours if you can.  Then take that teeny baby comb you probably have from the hospital and comb all of the flakey stuff out.

You can use olive oil too.

  • Sounds like it.  Plain old baby oil works too.
  • I don't know if it was cradle cap, but Mikayla had a period where her scalp was really dry and flakey in places.  We got her a really soft nail brush (like a soft bristle brush for buffing nails) and during her baths we'd just lightly brush her scalp.  It helped a lot!

  • There is this stuff at Target next to the california baby it is in a green bottle with disney babies on the front of it. It is called gental something? It is for cradle cap and it works great. We only had to use it once anf it was gone.
  • Syd's cradle cap came back around 5 months. Olive oil and a fine tooth comb works well. Brushing it with a soft brush in the bath helped too.
