  • 1. buy corned beef at store. Comes w/ seasoning packet.

    2. Put corned beef in crock pot. Throw in seasoning. Cover w/ water.

Et voila! It is seriously that easy. When you take it out, let it set for about 10 min before you cut it.

Some people throw in potatoes, but I do those separeate and steam the cabbage.

Sometimes I make the gravy.  Sometimes not.  I also don't add in cabbage because I don't like it and H won't eat a whole head so it would go to waste.

  • I take the corned beef, lay it in the crock pot on a bed of carrots and onions.

Pour 2 beers over it and add the seasoning.

    Cook it forever.

Throw out the carrots and onions (too salty to eat).

Serve with steamed cabbage and potatoes.

  • I put cut up potatoes in the bottom of the crock, put the brisket on top.  Cook on low all day and throw in cabbage about an hour before you want to eat.

This is exactly what I did on Saturday when we had it. I thought I read somewhere that potatoes cook best when on the bottom of the crockpot? I did potatoes on the bottom, then carrots and onions, then added the brisket and covered with 2c water...cooked 10 hours on low and then added cabbage 1 hour before eating.
