Depression ?

For the past 2 months I just feel so blah about everything.  Not sad really, just numb.  Doing the day to day errands seems so overwhelming to me, and I am having a really hard time sleeping even though I am exhausted.  I finally decided today that I need to do something about this.  I don't think its PPD at this point, but I just don't feel like myself.  Anyoneelse  feel like this?

Re: Depression ?

  • First off, I'm so sorry that you're feeling this way.  I've suffered from depression in the past and it definitely sounds like that's what you're dealing with.  If I were you, I would definitely get help.  It's just not worth feeling like that when you know you can be better.  I've found that the one thing that has relieved my depression the best in the past is, believe-it-or-not, exercise.  Good old steady exercise really does the trick, but besides that therapy and even drugs can help.  Good luck though and know you are definitely not alone in this.
  • It very well could be PPD.  I am finally starting to feel better after starting Zoloft.  I had about a month of exactly what you are describing.  My GYN said it was definately PPD.

I hope you feel better soon!

  • that is how I was feeling a couple of months ago.  I was getting so overwhelmed and it got to a point that I was numb as well.... I wasn't enjoying my beautiful babies at all.  I talked to my doctor and went on Celexa and I have been feeling so much better.  It has helped me cope with everything and I am sleeping better as well.... I also was having a hard time sleeping.  My Dr. recommended that I take Celexa or go to counseling.... I chose Celexa as I don't really have the time to devote to counseling.  Whatever you decided I would talk to your doctor.  There are ways that you can feel better and once you get help it is so much easier.   If you have any other questions page me or send me an e-mail.... snewman1978@yahoo.com.   Good Luck!
