Random business card question

Okay, so I'm now a Pampered Chef consultant and I have a link to 250 free business cards but my dilema is this -

1. The other ladies I work with all have their addresses on their business related stuff that goes to customers and I am not really that comfortable with that and DH and I are in an apartment where we do not intend to stay in past this summer.

2. I cannot decide if I should put my picture on my card so that those I give my card to have a face to go with a name or if I should just pick a cute design. There are not many food type designs with this company that is giving free cards away.

If you were to get a business card, would you think it was odd for a consultant not to put their home address on the card? And would you prefer to see a cute card or a card with your consultants photo on it?

Thanks!!!

Re: Random business card question

  • 1.  I see no reason why you should include your home address on there.  It's not like people will be stopping by your house and ringing your doorbell for products, right?  I wouldn't think twice about no address being included.

    2.  I say go for the cute design and cute care.  I don't know that the picture card ever does more than give people something to joke about.  I work in consulting and only one guy in the office has his picture on his cards and we all laugh about it....so do our clients.  Granted, it's a completely different business but I always think of real estate agents and mortgage brokers when it comes to pictures on business cards.  A cute design would resonate more with me.

     Just my 2 cents!

  • 1. Personally, I wouldn't put my home address on there. That's additional information you can give out later if you want to. I'm not sure how PC works, but you could put the city your based in.

    2. I think of real estate too when I think of pictures on cards. My chiropractor is a funny and cool guy, but his business portrait in the yellow pages makes him look like a car salesman. To my knowledge, I've never seen a good professional portrait that didn't make me think that.

If your worried about being remembered, write something on the card that came up in conversation or if you don't have a lot of time, write where you met, so they have a memory trigger when they find your card later.

  • I wouldn't put my home address on it. I'm 50/50 with the picture. Depending on the photo it could go either way.

  • I also wouldn't put my home address just in case I do move. All people would really need is a phone number and that you can take with you if you move. For the picture I would probably chose a design.
