I wouldn't think so... Juliet is just so pretty on its own... if they came up with a nn... I would think it would be "jules" pronounces "jewels." Our girl name will likely have that nn... as a playful thing, not an everyday thing...

If you introduce her as Juliet and if she introduces herself as Juliet, people will call her Juliet. I know one Juliet who has only ever been called Juliet other than her close friends who will call her J sometimes.
Keep in mind that your daughter may decide she prefers Julie at some point. I think that would be her right as it is her name.
(A family friend threw a fit when her son Micheal started going by Mike in high school. I thought that was uncalled for. He was 13 and didn't like the name Micheal. She made a huge deal about "forbidding" the extended family/family friends calling him Mike. And this was while Mike was specifically requesting people to use the shortened name. But I think you can see how the name became symbolic of some larger issues.... She finally relaxed. Now as an adult, he uses Micheal at work and Mike with his buddies).
This is one of my all time favorite names. I completely agree that she should have the right to be called whatever she wants since it's HER name. I was going to be named Julie, but my mom hates this name because of a bad association. I now associate this name with that. I think I'm going to take this this off the list because my mom and I would be annoyed if she wants to be called Julie (and that's her choice).?
I need to find names that are not nick nameable. ?
I am really hoping that the Celebrities that have babies in the future will go for names like Juliet or Juliette because the names are unique but very beautiful and classic--just like names like Violet, Vivienne, Seraphina, etc. ??

Only if you did. Or, when she gets in middle/high school and might choose to go by Julie on her own. Juliet is very nice.
ditto this. my little brother's name is Andrew and my mom did not want him to be called anything else - no one did until he was in high school and his friends shortened it to Drew.

I think its a pretty name. I should warn you that its my cousins name and she absolutely hates it, she goes by her middle name. She said if she hears one more romeo joke she'll go crazy. I personally wouldn't have thought of that, so wanted to put it out there.
