Hi ladies, I haven't posted in a long time, but I come to you asking for guidance! DD has never been a "good sleeper" but she started doing better around 6 months...taking longer naps and sleeping through the night or waking just once to eat.
The last few weeks have been awful, however - she is back to waking multiple times and last night was the worst - between 10:30pm and 2am she woke every 15 minutes! And it looks like I'm in for a repeat tonight. I am not really sure what is going on here. She wakes up and fidgets, rolls around and ultimately gets "stuck" in the corner of the crib and then cries. Sometimes she'll be on her belly and seem to need help rolling over (which I don't understand because she has known how to roll for months now).
I normally just go in, fix her and give her the paci and she'll go back to sleep until the next time it happens. There are times when she's upset so I nurse her. Last night I was so desperate I think I nursed her twice in four hours...
Anyone been through this? I guess it could be teething, or some sort of developmental thing that (please, please, please) will go away on its own. But I'm exhausted.
She's a little over 8 months old. Sorry this was so long!
Re: Getting stuck in crib
I am sorry she's not sleeping well.... I was going to say teething?
if you leave her where she gets "stuck", will she find a way to roll out of there?
My baby did not start rolling until late, like 8-9 months old... so if he woke up crying on his belly I had to get him and help him turn or take him out... but maybe if you leave her in there for a bit she can figure out how to get out of the corner?
If you think she may be teething, maybe a dose of tylenol will let her sleep?
Sadly, even when kids start STTN, there are always developmental things, sicknesses, sleep regression that tend to mess it up
Hope she sleeps tonight!
P.S. J usually ends up in our bed if he starts waking up too often... I used to sit in the rocking chair and rock him back to sleep but lately I've been too tired, so he just sleeps on me or next to me.
