I'm in the market for a camcorder to document all of the baby's "first". Please let me know if you have any recommendations on your camcorders (and price ranges). thanks!
Honestly we spent over 1k an a video camera and the one we use all the time is our flip video!! It is small enough to carry in your purse or diaper bag and easy to have in a drawer nearby to be able to grab turn on and video without having to go find the video camera make sure its charged and then try to catch all the "1sts" The flip video is about $100 and its the best money we have ever spent! Dh had it in his pocket and was able to pull it out video ds in the operating room during the c-section while he was holding a barf pan for me! Its also super easy to upload on to the internet and share with family!
Our flip video has been used for everything. A lady backed into me and I was able to document the damamge with the flip video camera and email the video to the insurance company. I was also able to record my friend's little girl saying "da, da, da, da, da", and send it to her husband in Iraq.
It is so easy to use, and costco had them a little bit ago.
We got a Sony Handycam as a gift and I love it. It's fairly small and the screen is a touch screen. It uses an internal hard drive, I think, but also has the option of an sd card. I know that it's roughly 3-5 hundred.
We just bought the new HD Flip at Costco today for $199! I'm glad to see everyone likes it. We've played with it a little and it seems perfect for carrying around and capturing little moments.

We also have a spendy Sony Handycam that's great - HD and the whole works but I use my Flip all the time instead of getting the big one out.
I have samples of the flip on our blog if you want to see the quality.
