I am on the SN board more, but I saw your post and thought I could offer a little help.
We had a farm themed party for my sons 1st bday. Oriental trading has a ton of stuff. We got a cow pinata, rubber ducks that looked like cows, pigs, chickens, farmers, etc.
They had farm bandanas that can be colored in with cloth markers.
We did red/white check tablecloths and used bales of hay, corn stalks for decorations.
I got small piggy banks and ceramic markers from Michaels and the kids made piggy banks.
we used all the rubber ducks in a baby pool and had "fishing for ducks" kind of like bobbing for apples.
the cake, I dressed him in overalls, flannel shirt and a bandana and put him in corn field with an ear of corn, and took a picture, we put that on the cake.
The goody bags had rubber cows dressed like bday cows, a farm book (dollar store) 1st bday mints (oriental trading) farm tatoos
Thanks, the party did turn out good! I thought of a few more,
I could not find Farm invites, so I made ones that said,
BAA BAA MOO MOO Ben's 1st year is almost through
Come on over for some Barnyard Fun, our little boy is turning one!
and i got a piece of plywood, and painted a picture of a farm house, my husband cut out a few holes, voila bean bag toss.
Our party store didn't have balloons on display I liked, so I asked and they ordered me for about $6 each, HUGE ones that were shaped like chickens, cows, pigs. I bet most party stores have the same books, you might be able to get something like that.
Bandanna's was something else for the goody bags, I really had a great time on oriental trading!
