TTC after 35

Baby names...

Hello ladies,

I know there's a name board, but I'm just curious about folks here on this board: Have you already decided on names for future baby? do you have a list of possible names? And if so, what are they?

We love Julia for a girl, and Henry for a boy (hence my user name). Our second choice for a girl is Caroline, and we're still trying to decide about a second boy name (since twins are much more likely given my age!).

Re: Baby names...

  • I want to use Caroline for a girl - my mother's name is Carol, so I think that would be cute.  Frances for middle (after my grandmother & ME) or Maddie (DH's mother's middle).  I am named after both of my grandmothers and I have always loved that, so I would like to do that for my daughter.

For a son, we would use DH's name since he is a third.  DH wants a IV, which I'm not absolutely crazy about, but it is important to him.  Maybe we would have a nickname like "Bo" of something.  I would love to use DH's middle name but DH's brother has already used that.  (I was mad at first, but then I realized it was a family name for my SIL too.)

  • BTW - I love Julia!  But, again already used by my BIL and SIL.  They are quite good at picking names I really like!

  • I've thought of some girl names, but not boy ones too much.  I like Caroline!
  • I liked all of your names--just classic names.

I like Alexa Josephine, Alexandra Grace, and Taylor Noelle.  I like the name Avery---I guess it is more the meaning of Elf Ruler that I was not as crazy about.

I also like Aidan James and Brady Thomas.

I am hoping for twins, but I will be happy with a healthy baby.

  • i like Alexia for a girl but will not use as my mom's name is alexandra and knowing her she would think we named after her

  • I like Gracie Anne for a girl and Brady Richard for a boy.....

  • I love Astrid for a girl but, at the same time, I'm not sure I'd want to do that to our little girl (if we have one).

If we have a boy I really want his first name to be George, after my grandfather,  but I'm not sure my husband will agree.  I wish I could pull my I-carried-him-for-9-months-trump card.   Anyway, I might have to settle on George being a middle name since I have told my husband that our son's name will have George in it somewhere.

  • For a boy, we would probably give him DH's middle name as his middle name - that's James. We haven't really settled on a first name. Contenders include:  Patrick (which happens to be my maiden name) and David.

For a little girl, we both absolutely love Violet Grace.

We picked out Violet even before we were TTC. There are wild violets that grow all over our woods. And DH gave me a potted African violet on our first date. I also associate violets with my grandmother. And Grace is DH's grandma's name.

Oh, gosh, I hope it happens for us and we get to have Little Boy Something James or Violet Grace with us.

    BFPs all around!!!

Never would I have guessed that TTC would be this emotional.

  • Thanks for your answers, ladies.

I love all of your names! Although I did not know Avery had anything to do with elves.. I went to college with an Aven, which sounds similar to Avery, but without the elf thing...

And I think the idea of using your maiden name for a ds is great - we sort of did that with #1 - I was a Johnson, and ds is John...

    have a great weekend, everyone.
