How did you find different preschools to look at?

I have tried googling preschools in our area etc but never come up with anything.  How did you find ones to go and look at?  Thanks!

I grew up around the corner from the one dd attends.  It is a Catholic prek-8 school and I attended CCD classes there as a child.  The same Sister works there now and I'm almost 40!

Look in your phone book, too. I live in a big city and there were hundreds of preschools. I knew what kind of school I was interested in(co-op/parent-participation) which helped me narrow down my choices. I made a list, noted down any that included a website and checked those out first online. Other schools I called and discussed the tuition and available openings and set up my tours with the schools we could afford that still had openings. Don't be discouraged by a wait-list. Many schools have them and the turn-over is really quick. People get on the list, then find other schools and spots open up quickly.

Our library has a "Preschool Preview" night.  Each preschool has a representative there. 

Do you have a local Mom's club?  Our local club has a listing of the preschools in our area on their website.

My MOMS club had an open house thing where moms spoke about their schools.  For me it was kind of easy b/c I wanted to avoid religious preschools so my options were pretty limited.

Superpages.com  I just searched for preschools in my town and called them all.  Some neighbors told me about their experiences too but honestly I did not agree with what everyone else said about all the schools so I am going with my gut and hopefully do not regret it.
