i went from no blue at all for our baby boy, to white, light blue and navy blue! how the heck did that happen?! ![]()
anyway, is anyone doing a navy blue or darker blue nursery? i have a north facing room that we're planning on using for the baby room, with 2 good sized windows...so i'm not too worried about lighting...but still want to get some ideas.
Re: Navy blue nursery...
Check out the Nautica William crib bedding set from BRU. This is the set we are thinking of going with and it's navy blue, light blue, and white. Sounds like it would work for you.
there used to be a really cute navy/nautical themed room at PotteryBarn Kids but it looks like they've discontinued it. I have it torn out from an old magazine that I got a year ago. They had one wall painted in a dark navy with a white wooden shelf at the top with pegs to hang things. Then there were frames and knick knacks sitting atop the shelf. the navy part of the wall had 1x3 inch wood slats in a grid pattern nailed to the wall to give it a decorative touch and they were painted the same color navy. it just gave the wall some depth.
here's an option to incorporate all your blues on the walls and in the bedding. go with a simple stripe fabric for a crib skirt and window valance. use a pale blue fitted sheet for the mattress and then do something with their name on the wall above the crib. i think using white wooden furniture against the navy walls would really pop!
I think we are. But navy, white, and a little bit of lime. Here are my ideas so far:
I actually had bedding custom made that is a modern navy, lime, and white- I used Alexnder Henry's 2-d zoo fabric with a solid navy fabric and a lime with white polka dots fabric. It turned out fab!!! I need to get some more pics up here...but I did lime and chocolate walls for contrast; a navy area rug; white furniture; navy storage bins; navy w/lime dot trim window treatments; glider is white with navy cushions; and other misc navy accents like changing pad cover, etc. I will try to remember to take some more pics- if I don't you can page me on 3rd tri and I'll email them to you! DH and I LOVED how it turned out! Different and modern and fun!
