Pregnant after a Loss

Phenergan (pron. finegran)

Have you taken it for nausea/vomiting?  I get nauseated at night and am going to Tokyo in a couple weeks and wanted to have nausea meds on me just in case my m/s got worse.  Is it perfectly safe to use?  Did it work for you? TIA!

Re: Phenergan (pron. finegran)

  • Have you tried those sea bands? they did work for me when I was traveling.

  • yup i have them and they dont do a thing for me Sad
  • I have tried it and honestly it didn't really work for me.  It just made me VERY sleepy.
  • I pink puffy heart phenergan. We try and keep it in the house. It does KNOCK you out though.
  • I agree with justgnat. I love it! It can make you sleepy but my ob's nurse said to cut one in half if it does and see if that takes it away without being sleepy.
  • I have never personally tried it, but being an ER nurse we give it, and all other nausea meds, very frequently.

I honestly hate giving my patients phenergan. It makes them REALLY sleepy, and doesn't seem to work any better than other better meds in my opinion. I'm not sure what the pregnancy category is.

We give all our pregnant patients, and pretty much all nausea patients in general Zofran. It generally works, plus it doesn't have nearly as many side effects as the Phenergan. It's the drug of choice by our physicians.

  • Someone who uses something as cute as "pink puffy heart" in their sentences should definitely be having a girl! Stick out tongue
  • I didnt have bad m/s last night so i didnt take any but I do only get night sickness so the drowsy thing will be welcomed.  Thanks ladies!
