Tazo Passion Tea

Hey everyone I have been drinking this tea like crazy, I read all the ingredients and nothing stands out as bad as far as "herbal tea" restrictions go and it is decaf. I've been able to down about a 1.5 L today of it and 1 L of straight water...do you think that drinking this tea can be counted as drinking water?  I'm having sooo many issues drinking water with this pregnancy...first it was making my m/s act up, but now I jsut get soo freaking cold from drinking it and I just want hot tea...what do you think?

Re: Tazo Passion Tea

  • I would consider it to qualify as your water intake.  What do you know about herbal tea restrictions?  I always found contradicting and vague info, so I've been abstaining.  Dish, please.

  • I would count it all toward your water intake since it is caffiene free.  I LOVE it ! I always order a big one it from Starbucks, iced and half-sweet.  It is so refreshing when it is iced and has minimal calories and sugar :)
  • I agree with PP about tea restrictions being contradicting and vague...  I heart tazo iced green tea lemonade from starbucks... research shows that  in large amounts it can be the opposite of the anti aging remedy in grown ups in the sense that it doesnt hold on to follic acid?  Im really bad at explaining things.. but I think EVERYTHING in moderation also is ok.. my once every two weeks starbucks treat of iced green tea lemonade isnt going to hurt me :) just as i think that as long as you got some water getting to you its great :) of course in moderation.. dont worry next week youll be over it anyways :)
  • I am going by BabyCenter I think that they are taking a good approach on the topic and based on what they are saying none of the ingredients that they consider harmful during pregnancy is listed in the ingredients...infact the ingredients for the Passion tea is quite pure and consist of most of the ingredients that they recommend to make your own tea at home...

Me too.  I was hoping she would have concrete evidence so I could imbibe without moderation :)

  • I love the Tazo Passion Tea too, I checked with my doc about it and she said no theres no problem with drinking it. I've never tried it cold but that sounds great. Tea can definitely be counted as water thats pretty much all it is. Some places will warn about a couple of the ingredients but only for very large/medicinal amounts.
  • I forgot who it was, but they were drinking vitamin water and their DR said it doesn't count towards their water intake.
