Re-covering a glider??

So my SIL is giving us her old glider, which is fantastic, but it's black and white gingham, which is not (not for our nursery, anyway).  Anybody know where I can get a slipcover for it or something?  It's one of those wooden ones, with pads on the arms and all (I'm guessing sewn-on), but not totally upholstered, hence my dilemma.

 TIA!!

Re: Re-covering a glider??

  • I have the same problem with a hand me down 15 year old lazy boy rocker/recliner.  Perfect size but ugly upholstery.  I googled lazy boy slip covers and only found slipcovers for newer models that they make.  Find out the brand of your glider and try an internet search for slip covers for them.

  • Do you know what kind it is?  I was in Buy Buy Baby the other day and someone was ordering a replacement cover for a Dutailier, so I know they make them.  I bet Shermag does, too.
  • Can you sew, or do you know someone who does? You could just carefully remove the old one and make a pattern from it and sew a new one.

I am not this crafty, but know of people who are...
