Could she hate being swaddled?

Up until last week, DD was going to bed at 7pm and getting up twice a night - 1am and 4am.  There were a rare few instances where she only got up once (4am).  Starting a week ago she is suddenly getting up 4 times a night, starting anywhere from 9:30pm - 10:30pm and going every 2 hours after that.  We have had her in a Miracle Blanket since she was 6 weeks old and it was our saving grace, but now we have noticed over the past week that when she wakes up she has busted out of it.  Could her fighting the MB be what is causing her to wake up so much?  Should we try weaning or has anyone had success with going cold turkey?

  • That could be it, why don't you try leaving one arm unswaddled? Or else it could be the dreaded 12 week growth spurt.

  • same thing happened with us so we tried one arm out one night. low and behold, she stretched out her arm and seemed so comfortable. next night - both arms. She is sleeping better unswaddled actually. we still have her legs swaddled because she kicks her legs alot.
