next step: Femara

Three rounds of Clomid didn't work, or at least it didn't look like it would on day 14...  So now the RE is going to have me start Femara this cycle... Any suggestions, warnings, words of advice for me?!!?  Or success stories???  I would love to hear them!

what size were your follies on CD14? i know some women are late responders and O as late as CD20 on it.  sorry the clomid didn't seem to help.  i went straight to femara instead of taking clomid first.  i was on the low dose, 2.5mg on CD3-7... first time i only produced one big follie @ 20mm on CD14.  2nd time i also only got one big follie but it was already 24mm on CD13.  we did TI both times and got our BFP after the 2nd try i had some mild headaches on it but otherwise no big s/e.  the plan was to increase my dose to 5mg if the previous cycle did not work.

ps - if you are OOP, see if your RE will sign off on the free trial at www.femara.com -  they might not want to give you 30 pills but at least you could get one cycle free if your RE will at least sign off on a few pills

Congrats on the BFP!!!

 My follies were at 5 on the first rd of Clomid, then 7 on the 2nd and 9 on the 3rd.  That's what my RE (this was the first time I went to her) thought, was that i might have actually ovulated on the 3rd round, but just didn't know.  It's all new to me... and really frustrating!!!

Femara was my miracle drug. I did 8 rounds of Clomid - and I never ovulated on day 14 - it was more like day 20-22. With Femara, I triggered on day 10 and ovulated day 12. We did one IUI and we now have a 18-month old!

No tricks or warnings with Femara...I had NO side effects other than getting pregnant!

Clomid did not work for me, but I did get pg with Femara!  I actually o'ed on cd14 with femara (not even close on clomid).  GL!

I forgot to ask... What is OOP?  How much was one cycle of the Femara?
