1st Trimester

So insanely tired!

Are you all this tired?  I get 10+ hours of sleep and I'm groggy all the time.  Like a hangover I can't shake.  I went out for a few hours today and all I can do now is lay down and read.  I used to be so energetic!  How long does this last??

Re: So insanely tired!

  • Yep.  Same here.  I need a nap after I nap.

It should let up a bit in 2nd tri.

  • Loading the player...
  • don't worry, it's VERY common and should let up soon.
  • very common!

I hope it passes soon b/c I am useless.

  • I got 14 hours of sleep last night & the night before.  I may not be functional before noon from here on out....
  • i'm not as tired during the day anymore, until i do something major, like  yesterday i felt fine until i started doing yard work and i was worn out within minutes which isn't "normal"

Usually passes in 2nd tri but comes back in 3rd tri. I'm extremely tired though but I think it's because I've had such a busy, busy weekend.

  • It lasts until your kiddo is about 18... years old. And then the sleepless nights come less and less, unless they're a trouble maker or fall into the wrong crowd.

Basically you'll be exhausted forever now.

  • I'm right there with you. . . . and I hate it!!! I feel like a big lazy blob.  I have no energy and no motivation to do anything.  I come home from work and I plop myself down on the couch for the rest of the night.  I used to work out daily .. . . and today was the first day since I found out we were pregnant that I finally forced myself to do it.  I am hoping that the second trimester brings some of my energy back!

LOL!! My mom told me something similar the other day an I almost cried! I am such a sucker for naps/sleep so me and DH (who is fine with 5 hrs of sleep) are going to have to talk......

  • I was like this for the last 2.5-3 weeks. But I've been a lot better the last 2 days. Still tired, but managable.
