So you know how I'm selling things on craigslist to save up for the BOB Revolution Duallie right? Well my husband wanted to see it in person to see what the big deal was for the price. Fair enough. I found a near by store that carries it.
The owner had his personal one there (not to mention his newborn, 2yr old, dog and wife) for us to see and push around. The one he had was the 16" wheel version and was APPAULED when I told him I wanted the 12"AW. He seriously talked down to me telling me it was cheap and questioned why I would want "that". He also made sure that I knew he NEVER has sold one of those...well, clearly he hasn't even touched it then to know....dumbass.
I explained that I don't go jogging, and would use it for everyday-use, so I wanted it lighter and easier to maneuver etc etc. He was so annoyed that we would even consider ordering it like that.
So I'm right on this one, right girls? I mean we've all talked about how the 12" would be best for me and my situation. He also said the spokes for the 12" is asking for trouble (sigh)....please back me up. OH, and no need to even question if we'll be buying it from that douchey douche.?
Re: Store Owner was a douche bag
Why do you need to explain your self to him. He is a moron that just lost a sale. You want so you get it. You know what you want so there is no need for him to talk you that way. I hate when people do that. By the way I have no clue which one is better my 2 strollers were hand me downs.
Oh, but I did go the cheap way and got 2 single umbrella stroller and bought the connector. I tried it yesterday and I loved it. DH wanted single light weight strollers...only spent $50.?
?
This just reminded of another thing he said! He said that once we get the double version, we'll be back to buy 2 singles as well. My husband actually laughed outloud. I said we'd be buying simple umbrella strollers as singles after we save up for this one. Sorry buddy...we're not made of money!
His wife was sitting there with a sleeping baby (I'd say 2 months old) and she wanted nothing to do with us. I said hi and said her baby was cute and her only response...GET THIS..."I'm waiting to put him in the stroller"... wow...sorry that we came to look at a stroller in YOUR STORE not assuming it was your personal one....seriously get over your rich self.
OH - does anyone know if you can fit the 12"AW into the trunk of a standard car? I know you can't fit the 16" one just by looking at it. I drive an SUV, but husband said he would like the option to use the car if we want to...?
?
here's a pic.....by the way if that guys keep it up he wont make it in this economy. Oh! and I know I hate when I comment on how cute a kid is and I just get the "LOOK". What can we do.....people?
what a jerk!
i would not get the bigger tire one either!!!
that is funny- b/c i went into a store many months ago to see if they carried the Bumbleride Indie Twin- and the store owner (also a man) went on a tyrade about why i should not get it- and get the Bob instead. He gave me tons of specs about the Bob, about why it's so great, why he doesn't even carry the Bumbleride, etc.... I think it's a cult hehehe.
i would not buy from him - sounds like a total jerk.
What a moron!! I got the 16' wheels for my specific purposes (ie- jogging, use of soft sand, use in a couple of inches of snow) but I wouldn't have if I didn't need it for those specific things. Oh, and you should be fine getting it in your car (without much else). I get my 16 in the car and just pop off my wheels (pretty easy). Anyhoo- go with your 12' and buy it from someone who actually has one on the floor for customers to shop it!
PS. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE MINE!! I get what the hype is about- I hiked in 2 inches of mud on Friday and the thing gilded through!
All I can say is WOW. What an ass!!!! I love that you call him a douchey douche--I'll be laughing about it all night now
I'm sorry about that---hopefully you'll be able to find a respectable business that will sell what you want. Oh--and if that happened to me and my DH, we would be spreading the word around the town about him and his attitude. I can't believe people like him are in business.
Sounds to me like he's got a mean case of "Little Man Syndrome" and has a deep seaded mental issue thinking bigger is better. If he's never even seen the thing how can he make the judgement about it?!?!? Loser.
BTW, I liked your use of the term "douchey douche."
I have the 12 inch and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I take it everywhere, Costco, the beach, the park, around the neighborhood.
I do have to take one of the back wheels off to fit it in my car. I just fold it up, put it in then take the wheel off (to be able to shut the back door). I have a Ford Escape as well. But, I really don't mind. Once I want to get it out I just pop the wheel back on, put it on the floor open it up and put the girls in.
You will love it!
if you look on the BIB website, they have a "what you need it for" section...and as far as i know, the 12" is right for what you need. ?i don't jog (or run for that matter) with mine. ?i use it as my everyday stroller...to putz around downtown, go to the park, stroll through BRU, target, and the mall...it's not bulky and honestly the 16" is heavier and appears much bulkier. ?it's enough of a scene to try to navigate strabucks with the 12", if i had the 16" i'd feel like i was trying to push a MAC truck through the line. ?i love, love, love, my 12" and the 16" felt too heavy and bulky for me. ?if you go to bobgear.com there must be a dealer in your area who has one, or if you called their customer service maybe they could hook you up with someone in the area who has the 12". ?i don't "know" you IRL, but we sound to be similar size and it seems to me that you'd be doing the same thing with yours as i do with mine. ?if you'd like i'll pass along my phone # and we could chat about it. ?HTH

OH, BTW...the 12" and the 16" are the SAME EXACT STROLLER but the 12" has all 3 wheels as 12" wheels and the 16" has a 12" front wheel and 16" back wheels. ?so he's clueless.?
