Car Seat Clinic

I had installed my new car seat a few weeks ago, but I didn't think it looked right in the car.  I took it to a car seat clinic to get checked yesterday, and it was installed completely wrong!  My DS would have gotten really hurt in an accident!  They had to take it out and redo the whole installation.  I was so embarrassed and upset at the same time.  I read the manual before installing and thought it was right.

So, my point is...if you have car seat clinics in your area, get your seat checked!  They have certified installers from transport canada there.  It is so important!

Re: Car Seat Clinic

  • You can take them to the local fire department too and they will make sure it is installed correctly (at least here you can).
  • We can take them to BCAA or ICBC too...

  • I think it depends where you are.  DS was born out of town (he was early) and we didn't have his infant seat installed.  We took it to the fire department and Waterloo Regional Police Headquarters and no one would inspect it because they didn't want to be liable.

I had the same issue.  But I did find out that St. John's Ambulance in Cambridge does it.  Here's the link if you are interested.   https://www.sja.ca/Ontario/CommunityServices/Programs/Pages/CambridgeCarSeatSafetyTechnician.aspx
