Lupron?

Hi ladies.  I am posting this on behalf of a friend of mine who has gone through a series of unsuccessful IUIs/Clomid, and has been diagnosed with a super mild case of endomitriosis.  Her doc wants to start her on a 3 month cycle of Lupron to clear up the endo.  Has anyone had any experiences with this drug that they wish to share?  We appreciate your help!

I don't know about anyone else, but I did a 6 month cycle on Lupron and it was a nightmare.  I was only 21 at the time, so maybe I was too young to be more in control of myself, but still, it was unbearable for me.  I had terrible hot flashes, and ridiculous mood swings.  Everyone had to walk on egg shells around me and there was nothing I could do about it.  Even after all this time I can still remember how bad the side effects were.  I remember once walking out into the snow with nothing more than jeans and a tshirt on trying to cool down from one of the hot flashes.

I had been suffering with endometriosis since the age of 14 and ovarian cysts.  I was told I might never have kids, even after the Lupron shots.  It must have helped though, because I was able to conceive 2 children, and have never been more regular with my cycles. 

I'm now 35 and TTC one last time, hopefully. 

Good luck to anyone if they have to go through Lupron hell.

Thanks for the response.  She is 37 and has only a slight case but her doc suggested it anyway.  I am pretty worried how this is going to effect her.  She is already stressed out from the TTC process and works from about 8 a.m. until 7:30 every night at a stressful job.    It is good news that you were able to have 2 kids after what you went through.  Good luck on your third!
