im in graduate school and we are putting together a small 4 min video about anything we want. anyway im going to do my adoption process but i need some good music. list some songs that make you think about adoption and family.
The one song that slays me is "Somewhere Out There"...you know, that song from the "An American Tail" movie about the mouse. It just kills me. I guess it's because I've always had an affinity to the moon and stars.
A few other songs that really speak of my place in the process are:
?Everything to Me? by Mark Schultz;
?I Give You To His Heart? by Union Station;
?God Help My People,? also known as ?God Help the Outcasts? (think Disney?s version of ?The Hunchback of Notre Dame?) by Esmeralda and the Clopins; and
?All I Really Want? by Steven Curtis Chapman.
If you want any other ideas, just google ?adoption songs;? www.bethany.org has a whole list of songs you can check out. There are a ton out there.
Once you really listen, it?s amazing what can tug at your heartstrings. The other day ?It Won?t Be Like This For Long,? by Darius Rucker nearly got me. All I could think of was that many of the moments described in the song were things I?d miss out on in our child?s life.
The best one I've heard so far is "I Would Die for That" by Kellie Coffey. Here is a link to the YouTube video, but be prepared with some tissue because it's a heart-ripper for sure.
Re: need help
i love the song from Tarzan- "You'll be in my heart"... the phil collins version.
or, the Hawaiian version of "somewhere over the rainbow" by Isreal kum-ka-something haha... you can search for it on you tube :-)
good luck!!

Here are some of the lyrics:
"I would die for that,
Just to have one chance,
To hold in my hands, all that they have,
I would die for that.
..........
All I want is a family,
Like everyone else I see.
And I won't understand it
If it's not meant to be."
